Combining two of my favorite things into one game? It was a no-brainer for me to add this to my collection. However, for those who are not familiar with either the card game or the anime, here is my buying guide on ‘Dragon Ball Z Uno’.
What is Dragon Ball Z Uno?
Dragon Ball Z Uno is a special edition of the classic card game Uno, featuring characters and themes from the popular anime series Dragon Ball Z. It follows the same rules as original Uno, but with an added twist of DBZ elements such as character cards, power cards, and wild cards.
Who can play?
Dragon Ball Z Uno is suitable for players aged 7 and above. It can be played with 2-10 players, making it perfect for both family game nights and gatherings with friends. The game can also be enjoyed by both fans and non-fans of the anime.
What’s included in the box?
The box contains 112 cards: 19 blue cards, 19 green cards, 19 red cards, 19 yellow cards, 8 wild cards, 4 draw two cards (two of each color), 4 reverse cards (two of each color), 4 skip cards (two of each color), and an instruction sheet. The unique element in this edition is the addition of character and power cards which add an extra layer of fun to the game.
Gameplay
The gameplay remains largely unchanged from traditional Uno. Each player starts with seven random cards and takes turns matching either color or number with the top card in the discard pile. If a player cannot make a match, they must draw one card from the draw pile until they can play a card. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins that round.
The added twist in Dragon Ball Z Uno comes from character and power cards. Character Cards feature iconic DBZ characters like Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo etc., with special abilities that can be used to sabotage opponents or protect yourself. Power Cards represent iconic moves from DBZ like Kamehameha or Special Beam Cannon which can be used to change gameplay or gain an advantage.
